Connect Nimt to ChatGPT on the web using your Nimt account.
Use Nimt inside a ChatGPT conversation to find projects and read their context.
You do not need Codex, a terminal, or an API key.
Nimt MCP is in pre-release. Follow this guide only after Nimt has confirmed
access for you. This guide uses a custom connection, not a public Nimt
directory listing.
Sign in to ChatGPT on the web and to the Nimt account you want to connect.
OpenAI currently lists developer mode for Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise,
and Education accounts. Free accounts are not listed as eligible.
For a managed workspace, your administrator may need to enable or publish
custom connections. Ask them if the relevant controls are missing.
OpenAI changes labels and availability over time. The steps below use the
current Plugins and Security and login interface; some accounts may still
show Apps or Connectors. See
OpenAI’s developer mode guide
for current requirements. ChatGPT’s plan is separate from your Nimt account.
Open ChatGPT’s Settings → Security and login and enable Developer
mode. Read the warning: this permits unverified connections, so only add
servers you trust. Do not disable other security controls to connect Nimt.

2
Create the connection
Open Plugins, choose the + action to
create a developer-mode connection, and use these details:
Setting
Value
Name
Nimt
MCP server URL
https://api.nimt.ai/mcp
Authentication
OAuth
Let ChatGPT discover the OAuth configuration. Nimt supports client metadata
documents and dynamic registration; you do not need to create or paste an
OAuth client secret. Do not select No authentication for Nimt.
3
Sign in and choose a workspace
Follow the Nimt sign-in flow. Review the requesting application, choose the
workspace you want ChatGPT to access, and read the requested permissions.
Choose Allow access only if they match your intent, then return to ChatGPT.The approval stays tied to this workspace even if you switch workspaces in
the Nimt app later.
4
Enable Nimt in a conversation
Open a new conversation. Use the + menu, choose Developer mode, and
select Nimt. A saved connection may appear under Drafts until it is
published within a managed workspace.
Use Nimt to list the projects in my connected workspace.
Choose a returned project, then ask:
Use Nimt to show this project’s tracked models, active prompt count, and
available data range.
Check ChatGPT’s tool activity to confirm it used Nimt. The current actions are
Workspace list projects and Project get metadata. Both read data; neither
changes your project. See example questions for more ideas.
Open Nimt in ChatGPT’s installed plugin settings. Use Refresh if its tool
list is outdated, then start a new conversation and select Nimt again. To revoke Nimt access, open Connected apps
in Nimt and disconnect the ChatGPT approval for the relevant workspace. Removing
Nimt from a conversation does not revoke its credentials or delete data already
shared with ChatGPT. See OAuth access.
No create or developer-mode option: check your ChatGPT plan, account,
workspace policy, and whether you are using the web interface.
Cannot fetch tools: confirm the exact server URL and complete OAuth.
Refresh the connection after signing in.
ChatGPT answers without Nimt: select Nimt for the conversation and explicitly
say “Use Nimt.” It cannot answer report or citation questions through tools
that are not available yet.
Wrong projects: the approval is bound to one workspace. Reauthorize for
the intended workspace; changing the active workspace in Nimt is not enough.
